A photo journal. I took a photo of myself in the same spot every week to use as a reminder in the future that even amidst
all these worldly chaos- God steadied me.
- Not everyone is going to like you. You can be the sweetest tea, the kindest or most polite, and someone will still see a flaw in you! You don't have to see or take it as a rejection on your part. This is just how life is and guess what, it's okay.
- You don't always have to fit in. Don't stress it too much. It's alright! A few years back someone told me that in God's arms, we will always belong. It's so easy to feel like you are a fish out of water especially when you find yourself surrounded by other people. But I constantly make it a point to carry out the mindest that fitting in isn't really all that! Just continue being yourself, find joy in the little things, and acknowledge that God loves you.
- Relationships require hard work. Be intentional, be gentle, be kinder than how you feel, and communicate effectively as best as you can.
- Own your mistakes! Learn from them and grow from them. You don't have to hate yourself for the things you did/didn't do! Let forgiveness begin in you.
- Loving your neighbor means first learning to love yourself as a whole.
- It's okay not to be okay sometimes :) Take it one step at a time and just breathe.
- Your greatest companion is the Lord. Trust and abide in His presence.
- Being the prettiest (physically) isn't the most important thing! Invest in your dreams, goals, and so on. Work hard in achieving that degree, finishing a marathon, learning a great dish! There are so many things to occupy your life with! It's not always about what's on the outside.
- Take pride in taking good care of yourself! 2 years ago while I was still working, I made it a point to pamper myself every single night. (yup) I would do a lush cosmetics haul or I would head over to Wal-Mart and purchase these really great products. When you do this, consider it as a way of showing love and care to yourself.
- Make time to call people you love.
- Choose Joy!
- It's possible to forgive and forget.
- Have a grateful heart.
